Contributor Michael has emailed me a couple of suggestions.
1) New category request for "Alpine Carving"
2) Track overlay colour option.
I'm always happy to consider new categories, and happy to add new ones. This one will be added to the next release, provided there are no objections.
WRT colour, I can understand that a white track may be hard to see over snow, but most of the Google Earth overlay pictures do not contain any snow. If you want to take the track from ka72.com and project it over a snow picture, or other white background, it is possible to manually change the colour of the track by loading the kml file in Google Earth.
First of all, find your track (one of Michael's is at
http://www.ka72.com/TrackRecalc.aspx?fid=1995)Then click the Google Earth Overlay link.
Under the overlay is a link to the .kml file from which the overlay is generated. Click or right-click it to download it (depending on your browser) and save it locally on your computer.
Open Google Earth and then use File, Open on the menu to open your kml file.
The track will appear in your Temporary Places in Google Earth, and the program will zoom to the track. If you right-click the track name under Temporary Places and select "Properties" from the popup menu, you can select a line colour and weight.
It is a little slower, and I'd like to add an option to change the colour to the interface, but I haven't got there just yet. If anyone else has tips on post-processing the .kml files I'd be interested in hearing them.
Here's Michael's track presented in another colour via Google Earth:
